E. J. Lee

Emanuel Joseph Lee (died 1941)〔(Who Was Who in British Philately ), Association of British Philatelic Societies, 2012. Retrieved 5 January 2013. (Archived here. )〕 was a philatelist who was a specialist in the stamps of Uruguay.
==Philately==
Lee specialised in the stamps of Uruguay. In 1933, he was awarded the Crawford Medal by the Royal Philatelic Society London for his work ''The postage stamps of Uruguay''.〔''The Society's medals and honorary fellowship''. The Royal Philatelic Society London, 2009, p. 2.〕 Lee was such an enthusiastic collector of Uruguay that he was once called "the man who killed Uruguay" because during his philatelic career he acquired virtually everything important from Uruguay that came on the market.〔"The Spell of the 'Suns'" by Nils Farnstrom in ''The London Philatelist'', Vol. LXVIII, No. 798, May 1959, pp. 94-95.〕 His Grand-Prix winning Uruguay collection was sold by Plumridge & Co., London, in 1936.
